Yer Trober's women's team snared their first flag on Sunday 14 August 2011, defeating North Ballarat 8.0.48 to 4.3.27 at Coburg City Oval.
In only their third year in the Victorian Women's Football League North West Conference, yer sheilas went one better than their preliminary final appearance last year.
Bolting from the blocks, the ladies led 2.0 to zilch at the first break.
North Ballarat hammered back with 4.2 to lead by 14 points at half-time.
The girls then applied the screws and held the opposition scoreless in the premiership quarter, while bagging 4.0 themselves.
The defence lagged slightly in the last stanza, allowing the opposition 0.1, but yer heroes helped themselves to 2.0 to complete a flawless scoreline.
Samantha Greene slotted four majors, while Laura Herben, Jess Meiver, Hannah Kennedy, Caite Mitchell, Imogen Mckee and Alyse Johns were among yer Trober's best. Alyse was voted best-on-ground.
A great new chapter in Trober history.
