Vale Peter O'Donohue

Sad news that Peter O'Donohue died last night, aged 89.
His funeral is at 11.30am, 21 November, St Mary's, Bairnsdale.
Peter coached yer Trobers to flags in 1988/89 and is remembered by all who knew him as a true gentleman disguised as a hard task master.
Of all the 1000s associated with LTUFC, Peter's footy pedigree is unsurpassed.
He played 100-odd games for Hawthorn in a VFL career interrupted by WW2. He captained the Hawks and coached them in the early 1960s. He also coached Deniliquin, Coburg, Old Melburnians and Melbourne Uni Blacks (including premierships in 1973/74).
He was a life member of Hawthorn and La Trobe and a number of other clubs.
He served in the navy in WW2, was a customs officer and devoted family man (his son, Sean, was a premiership player at La Trobe) and a great mate to many.
Vale Peter.
